My best buddy - known him since the fifth grade - hit a milestone today with his Trailblazer. I reminded him that it's 240,000 miles to the moon, so now he's on his way back.

I6, great engine, so of course GM cancelled it.

We've had one and the engine was amazing. Not a single problem in over 100k miles. It even started after sitting for 3 months without a problem. I've seen plenty with over 200k miles, and quite a few over 300k. The transmission on the other hand, that was weak as butter. I will never buy a GM auto, if it hasn't been upgraded.

Would love to see that photo. Borrowed the Blazer he had before this SUV once, and a blowout resulted. He does not take care of his vehicles. This resulted in a tire under his tree, wrapped half in Hanukkah paper and half in Christmas paper (I am an equal opportunity celebrator). Behold, the horror (and that's the year 2000, the very last time I changed a tire:

Haha. Was there any air in that spare when you dropped it? Those things are usually empty from never being checked.

The spare worked. The then GF and I were on the way to Annapolis so I could introduce her to sailing. We did, in fact, miss the boat. That was the scariest blowout I've ever had - I was going about 75 MPH in the left lane to get past a motorhome, if I recall correctly. Lucky I was able to steer it safely over 3 lanes and get it onto the lay-by.
